Article Marketing : How And Why It Can Work Wonders For SEO

Article Marketing is still a very useful tool in any SEO / website promoters’  arsenal in obtaining backlinks and traffic. Once a website has been keyword ‘optimised’ and metatags set up, there really isn’t anything else to do but build links to your site, in order to increase its ranking in the search engines. It is pretty much true that the more one way links to a website, the higher that site will rank and the more organic (search) traffic the site will get. More traffic means more money, simple as that.

Of course, the quality of links pointing to your site are also a major factor; there’s nothing like a large number of high page rank (PR) links pointing to your site but these are difficult and often expensive to obtain and besides quantity has a quality all of its own.

Obtaining several thousand PR0 (page rank zero) links will almost certainly propel your site to the top of the search engine results for many keywords and is certainly worth the effort if you can leverage certain tools to make your article marketing efforts count.

This is where article spinning and submission comes in. Let us consider the traditional method: You write a good quality article, submit it to some good, high PR article directories like ezinearticles and before long, you will get some good links and traffic, right? At least that was worked in the early part of the new millenium.

The problem is that article marketing has been used for several years now and in truth, the article directories are swamped already with good articles that generate ‘some’ traffic but there are simply so many articles on these popular, famous directories,  that the link ‘juice’ isn’t what it used to be.

The way article marketers have tried to get around this is simply to submit more articles, submit their articles to more directories, or both.

Now this brings a whole other set of issues; writing acceptable quality articles of around 400-500 words is very time consuming and then submitting the articles to article directories takes a lot of time also. With each directory, you have to create an account (if you don’t have one already), log in, load up your article, load up your resource box (containing the links back to your site) and finally make sure that you submit the article to the right category before moving on to  the next article directory and repeating the entire process.

The next problem is that whilst submitting an article to several article directories will shortly give a high number of backlinks to your site, eventually the link ‘juice’ from these article submissions will be reduced drastically due to the duplicate content rules set by the search engines like Google.

“In an ideal world article marketing would be like this…”

  • No need to spend too much time researching and writing good quality articles, we want to be able to find a good quality article on the web and ‘borrow it’.
  • Then, using something called an article ‘spinner’ we could change certain text within existing articles so that the article still makes sense to a reader but looks completely different to search engines.
  • Next we would want to be able to produce several hundred unique ‘versions’ of our original article and then submit one unique ‘version’ to each of several hundred different article directories at the click of a button.

Like I said, this would be in an ideal world! Now let me share with you how this is in fact a reality and how in just half an hour using article marketing software, I daily build around 400-500 links to my chosen site using my target keywords as ‘anchor text’ (i.e. the link description. For example ‘click here to find out more’ is nowhere near as good as say ‘plymouth plumbing services’ as the text on a website link if you are trying to rank for that phrase).

So, here is what I DO. Not theory, reality!

(1) Find a really good article on the web relating to the keywords that I am trying to rank for (10 mins)
(2) Load that article into my magic article spinner (1 minute)
(3) Spin the article so that it is more than 30% ‘unique’ (10-15 minutes)
(4) Load my resource box containing my links (1 minute)
(5) Load the new article versions into my magic article submitter at the push of a button (1 minute)
(6) choose the directory categories most relevant to my article (1 minute)
(7) press the submit button and put the kettle on for a cup of tea.  By the time my cuppa has been consumed the software will have submitted a unique version of my article to around 800 or so different article directories. This translates into 400-600 ‘accepted’ links that will be indexed by the search engines in about a week or so.
(8) repeat. I normally do this just once, sometimes twice a day and every single time the site that I am promoting rapidly climbs the search results and gets more traffic.

A good article spinner will cost you around $40-$60. A good article submitter about the same. Buying both together you should save money and after trying out a good dozen or so spinners and another dozen or so article submitters over several years, I can say without doubt that I now own the best spinner/submitter package on the market! I just wish someone had shown me which one was the best one years ago and saved me several hundred dollars and several hundred hours in wasted effort. It’s the Magic Article Spinner and Magic Article Submitter, hands down. This remarkable article marketing software package is still the top seller and comes with regular free updates to both the spinning database and directory database, so you’ll never have to buy another article marketing tool, ever.

Social Bookmarking Your Site For Massive Traffic

I still use this mass bookmarking too every daySocial Bookmarking Your Site For A Massive Jump in Search Engine Rankings and … why you should use Bookmarking Demon Software

As part of an overall strategy  to build links to your website, in turn getting higher search engine rankings (and therefore more traffic), social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, Mr Wong, Stumbleupon, Reddit, Propeller and so on simply cannot be ignored: they have very high Page Rank (PR) and are indexed by the major search engines every few hours. You may have noticed when you do a Google search that results from these bookmarking sites show up with increasing frequency…

Let’s say that you open an account at Digg.com. You bookmark all of the pages from your site, choosing your target keywords (your ‘anchor text’) as your bookmark titles. Each of these bookmarks will appear on Digg.com as having 1 ‘dig’ or vote. There you go, you’ve got a good solid anchor-text link from Dig.com to your target website, one to each website page, links that will very quickly be picked up by the search engines and counted in their calculations to rank your site. The higher your websites’ rank the more (targeted) traffic you should get, so it stands to reason that you should be using a bookmarking strategy to get your site more traffic.

The first thing you can do is open an account at socialmarker.com. Then you go and open account at several bookmarking services and use Socialmarker.com as a tool to ‘semi’ automate your bookmarking. With a couple of hours work you can gain several dozen back-links to your website, FREE OF CHARGE and many will also carry the ‘do-follow’ tag, meaning that Google assigns maximum ‘juice’ to these links.

You can also get the free browser toolbar from onlywire.com, this can allow you to bookmark with 20 or so top bookmarking sites with a couple of clicks. This is a great little tool and the paid version (about $40 per annum) is pretty good value.

Yes, it’s a couple of hours work for each of your websites but it needs to be done! The problem now is, if you want more links from social bookmarking sites, then you have to open another bookmarking account with all of the social bookmarking providers using a different email address and different log-in information. To open a hundred accounts (yes there are at least that many popular, high PR rank bookmarking sites), well, you can see how this could become very time consuming but believe me, if this was the only method that you had at your disposal to build links, you would see massive, positive results very quickly.

As your site gets another ‘vote’ at each bookmarking service, it moves up in their internal rankings meaning that as users search within the bookmarks for recommendations from other users, rather than use a traditional search on say Google or Bing, your site may even start to get traffic from the bookmarking service itself as well as from higher search engine ranking positions (‘SERPS’).

Like I said this can be VERY time consuming and for the past few years many automated and semi-automated services and software solutions have arrived, the most effective and best of them all being the Bookmarking Demon software from Edwinsoft (BMD). Yes there are a few other packages of SEO tools offering bookmarking as a module, Miracle Traffic Bot and Magic Submitter to name just two (which I also use extensively!) , but BMD is the one dedicated to automated bookmarking.

I bought BMD back at the start of 2009 and it is still the top selling bookmarking software at the time of writing (June 2010) and deservedly so. At first I would use the software to automatically open bookmarking accounts, load up my web pages and leave BMD running in the background  all day every day. It wasn’t long before I was getting ‘some’ traffic  and sure enough I started getting ‘some’ movement in my SERPS. Disappointment set in, I tried searching the internet to see what other users were doing different to get better results but alas it took several hours of trial and error, waiting weeks and weeks to see the outcomes, before I found out how to get the maximum out of the Bookmarking Demon Software.

All I can say here is that the trick –and people are charging $30 to $50 for this one piece of information – is not to bookmark your whole site over and over; instead sign up for 20 or so email addresses from Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail. Put all of these new profiles on an excel file and import it into BMD. Then use the software to create accounts, load a FEW pages from your site – the best pages – and let BMD go nuts bookmarking your site. Then do the same again every month or so and sit down for a couple of hours bookmarking through BMD the sites requiring CATPCHA input.

It is easy to use? Yes. Does it deserve it’s place as the ‘Daddy’ of all bookmarking software? Yes again. Is it worth the price tag ($149 to $199)? Absolutely. Does it work as promised? Yes, if you use it right. If I could only have one SEO tool to promote my sites, this would be it, without question.

Summary. If you want to see your site climb higher in the search engines, get more traffic than ever before, show off your SEO acumen to clients with real world results, then you simply have to own a copy of Bookmarking Demon. Doing SEO without it is like being a mechanic without a wrench – or a graphic designer without Photoshop. It is simply an essential tool and until something better comes along, the only serious choice.

p.s. please leave a comment with your own experiences of using BMD or any questions you may have. Finally, don’t forget to mutiple bookmark my whole site with your copy of BMD – and I will do the same for you!

Get Loads Of Free Website Traffic from RSS Aggregators – Clever!

This is the last software that I purchased in an attempt to turbocharge traffic levels to my network of wordpress blogs. After exactly 30 days I can confirm that as a direct result of buying and using this software, traffic levels (and of course clicks on google adverts :)   ) have risen some 16% across the board already. Impressive!

How it works is that every article you post onto your blog or website gets assigned an individual RSS feed, which is then submitted to LOADS of RSS aggregators (or ‘directories’). Being as each feed has your keyword-optimised title, this in turn brings lots and lots of juicy deep one-way links to your site. Over time, the results are pretty damn good!

I know this is a very short review but heh, it’s a simple idea and it works on autopilot. 10 out of 10.

Click on the banner to get the best deal on this great new link building software, Enjoy your day, Bryan

Mass Article Control Review: Article Marketing for SEO

Article Marketing Software Mass Article Control – Complete Review with none of the BS!

mass article controlThis top selling seo tool is still one of the most popular products for Article Marketing - It is because they have one of the best sales pages ever? Does it live up to the hype? Well, I tested it extensively for several months….

1. It is easy to use? No question about this, the accompanying video training is short and to the point, you will up and running in minutes.

2. The Claim: Mass Article Control claims to be able to vastly improve the number of links you can get via article marketing by being able to submit hundreds of times as many articles to article directories. It’s got one of the best sales pages (landing pages) that I’ve ever seen and does a good job of convincing you to buy it.

3. How it works: is that you receive two pieces of software, the mass article creator and the mass article submitter.

The article creator is basically a synonym-based article spinner that churns out hundreds of ‘unique’ versions of an article, the idea being that you then submit a different version at regular intervals via the article submitter. Some people, myself included, may find this a little distasteful, as it is blatantly ‘cheating’ the article directories as really you are just submitting the same articles again and again, albeit that the articles read differently.

Still, the results cannot be denied, it’s a good way of building a lot of long term, high page rank backlinks to your websites and to put it mildly, it works and it works well.

The mass article creator software is easy to use and comes with an excellent short video tutorial. Like all article spinning software you will find yourself having to do a lot more work than you might have expected when you first start using it but the more you use it, the easier it gets to produce multiple articles as it is continually storing the synonyms (alternative words and phrases) that you are thinking of. Once you are finished with an article, you press one button and hey presto, hundreds of unique versions are created and saved.

The mass article submitter is nothing new either. You enter ONE ARTICLE VERSION via cut and paste from the wordpad documents created by the article creation software. It would have been nicer if they were auto-loaded but never mind. You press the submit button and this version of your article is submitted to the article directories listed. These are all top ranked directories so so far, so good.

It’s one of the fastest articles submitters I’ve used and for an extra premium you can ‘upgrade’ so that the submitter uses 20 top article directories rather than 10, although THREE of these never seem to accept articles via the article submitter AND the ArticleCat directory virtually always comes back with “error, illegal character detected, please use ASCII text only”. So really, my article ‘versions’ only gets sent to 16 directories, not 20.

I have asked if anyone else is getting the same errors and the answer is YES, so it’s not just me.

Together the two pieces of software work OKAY. To start with I used the software to submit a total of 50 different articles and all 50 showed up on the search engines. However, only 6 of the directories gave me backlinks as for some reason, the other directories ignored my resource boxes. Upon further investigation, these directories do not have a resource box entry, you are simply supposed to put your resource box (with links to your target sites) into the main text area. I assumed that the Mass Article Submitter would do all of this automatically but no, so this perhaps needs clarification in the training videos… after submitting my 50 articles I was gutted that I now had to go to all of the directories and put in my resource boxes, which took hours.

Still, I did get some good, fast backlinks from 6 top directories but a far cry from the 20 directories that I paid for when I bought into MAC. It took several weeks before the backlink ‘juice’ from the directories started to take effect but to be fair, this was expected.

When I bought into the MAC idea, the sales page gave me the impression that I would be submitting a different article version to each directory, which I thought was a very clever idea indeed as obviously you are going to be building 20 links back to your site with each submission, that will not eventually be reduced to just 1 link as Google penalises you for duplicate content.

This though is not the case. In fact you submit the same article version to all 20 article directories at once then have to wait about a week and submit the next version to all twenty, so that they don’t realise what you are up to. Although you are supposed to get 20 new links to your website pretty fast, this will eventually be reduced to one link under the Google duplicate content rules. There is of course nothing to stop you submitting as many completely different articles as you wish each day, which is where the MAC system will bring you the fastest results.

I thought that it would have been better to simply use the article creator to produce just 20 highly different versions rather than hundreds of not so different versions and then submit one version to each of the top 20 directories, thereby getting around the penalty Google imposes for duplicate content, whilst at the same time building more unique links faster. Then you could just go and ‘borrow’ another good article from somewhere, respin it into twenty more versions and repeat the process.

I received an automated email from the MAC team saying that this is what the next upgrade would be so I have held off using the software since then. Months later, still no upgrade has been sent, although perhaps this is because I unsubscribed from their mailing list after I got fed up reading the deluge of emails that they sent me, trying to sell me on product after product after product. These guys pummel their buyers list to death – whilst not providing any email support or updates/fixes for products that you have already purchased. It’s a shame because this is the second product that I have purchased from these guys with the same result – the product does pretty much do as promised but automatic upgrades only happen for those still on the ‘prospect’ list.

I tend to use Mass Article Control to submit high quality articles that I have written from scratch myself OR have bought from an article writing specialist, rather than for articles that I have ‘borrowed’ from somewhere on the web and spun. The reason for this is that some of the article directories on the MAC submitter list are pretty choosy about the articles submitted, for example EzineArticles will reject some articles now and again and can limit the number of articles that you can submit over a certain period, which can be a pain.

Mainly though I cannot be bothered with the effort or expense of writing or buying many articles but when I do, MAC is a great tool for spinning and submitting. If I am just scraping articles off the ‘net for spinning, then 99% of the time I don’t use MAC, I use the Magic Article Spinner and Submitter from Alexander Krulik. Whilst being almost a secret in the article marketing arena, this is a tool I have gotten in the habit of using once every day for about a year and this has given me top 5 search results in Google for several of my websites, all in different niches. Using the MAGIC spinner and submitter, it takes about 10 minutes to find a ‘keyword rich’ article that I like on the ‘net, 10 minutes to spin it and another 10 minutes to submit it to about 400-600 directories (when I say 10 minutes to submit, this is ‘push a button and wait’ for all of the submissions to take place, rather than 10 minutes of work) . The directories with this software don’t have the same prestige as the ones used with MAC but the end results in search engine rankings for your website are the same or better and I know that a different article version is going out several hundred times per article spun, rather than only 10-16 being accepted by Article Directories when using the Mass Article Control software.

VERDICT : If you use or intend to use article marketing as part of your overall SEO strategy (you should!), which is a tried, tested and proven method of getting masses of one-way links pointing to your site, then Mass Article Control is a great idea but there are other packages on the market that are bug free and are cheaper. So… sorry, I’d love the affiliate commissions for recommending Mass Article Control but right now, if you are on a budget or just want to get the best article marketing tool you can afford, GIVE MASS ARTICLE CONTROL A MISS and get the MAGIC article spinner and submitter instead.
